Etude House 0.2mm Therapy Air Calendula sheet mask

Today’s review is about 0.2mm Therapy Air Calendula sheet mask by Etude House. I’ve tried several sheet masks by Etude House and it was always a pleasant experience for me. This mask claims to be soothing and boosting radiance of the skin. I’ve got this mask from the monthly subscription box from the littlewonderland.nl webshop.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Adheres to your skin as light as and as comfortable as air
❇ A hypo-allergenic sheet perfect for senstive skin
❇ A daily, hypo-allergenic 0.2mm air sheet that allows your skin to breathe whilst infusing 7-free essences into your skin
❇ Calendula oil with excellent soothing effect comforts skin and makes rough skin texture lok smooth and radiant.

Directions from the manufacturer:

1. After washing your face, apply toner or skin. Open the mask sheet and align with your eyes, nose and mouth and adhere.
2. After 10~20 mins of relaxation, peel off the mask sheet.
3. Gently pat in the remaining essence.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycereth-26, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Xylitol, Alcohol, 1,2-hexanediol, Carbomer, Arginine, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Sucrose Palmitate, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium Edta, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil (10ppm), Pinus Palustris Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eucalyptus Globuus Leaf Oil

My experience:

I really like the packaging on this one. Very summery and fresh.  Once I took the mask out I saw the familiar nearly transparant sheet. These usually adhere very well to your skin so that you can still do something while sheet-masking. There is a lot of  off white  transparant gel-type essence left inside the bag. So much that it was enough to cover both of my legs. There is nearly no scent to the essence. I did appreciate that because lately I haven’t tried any masked that were non fragranced.

The fit and the size of the mask were perfect for the size and shape of my face.  As expected, adherence was excellent as well. After applying the mask onto my face I was cooking dinner and cleaned out the toy room of my baby girl and no piece of this mask came off my face.  I kept it on for full 2o minutes. By that time it started to dry out on the outer edges.

After taking it off and waiting for the essence to absorb I did notice that my red cheeks were calmed down and not red anymore. Same with the overall appearance of my skin. it did brighten my face and reduced the appearance of my pigmentation spots and freckles. Impressive! It also hydrated my skin very well. The only noticeable minus for me was the fact that the essence residue was tacky. Since I didn’t have to go anywhere I decided to keep it on.  After an hour or so tackiness subsided and my skin was left soft and felt nourished.

Pros:

+ Sulfate and paraben free formula
+ Great fit of the sheet
+ Good ingredients
+ Very hydrating
+ Evens out my skin tone and reduces pigmentation
+ Calmed down redness on my face

Cons:
– Contain alcohol
– Not suitable for sensitive skin
– Not easy to find in the webshops within the EU

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: I got mine from my monthly subscription of  Wonder box
❇ Internationally: Available at ebay, yesstyle and other webshops.
❇ Price is 13,85€ for 10 sheet pack

My experience:

The Green Tea Sheet Mask from the Pure Source series is a very refreshing addition to my sheet mask collection. I like the simple yet attractive packaging of the entire series a lot.

The sheet of this mask is made of semi-thick cotton that is quite elastic and stretchy. It is soaked in gel-like essence that is transparent and has a fresh green tea scent to it. Due to the consistency of the essence, the sheet stays fresh for longer period of time and i can get full 20 minutes of wear out of it and I have the feeling that I can still wear it for another 10 minutes or so if I would like to do so.

This specific sheet mask hydrates my skin very well leaving it soft to the touch. Whatever remains of the essence is not sticky on my face and I feel the boost of hydration for at least half of the day. That’s why I prefer to use this specific sheet in the morning.

The adherence of the mask is very good for my face shape. I do usually cut two extra slits on the area of my cheekbones. but as you can see on the picture, it is not really necessary. Overall this is a good mask for my oily skin. It restore’s my hydration levels and smooths my skin with results lasting for almost an entire day in nearly 30°C weather.

Pros:
+ Affordable price
+ Great hydration results
+ Nice packaging
+ Good quality sheet
+ Paraben and sulfate free formula
+ Lovely herbal scent

Cons:
– Contains alcohol
– May not be the best product to try if you have sensitive skin

MISSHA Purple-Firming Natural Color Clay Mask

MISSHA Purple-Firming Natural Color Clay Mask is one of the 4 masks in the Color Clay series. I love the fact how gentle they are on my skin. Clay masks are my nr 2 used masks in my entire collection. First place is rightfully occupied by the sheet masks because they are so easy in use.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Elasticity care mask with Brazilian purple clay to help provide elasticity and nutrition to skin.
❇ Brazilian natural clay
❇ Classified color treatment depending on the type of skin troubles
❇ Wash-off type mask

Directions from the manufacturer:

After washing the face, prepare the skin with toner. Take an appropriate amount, apply thickly onto the face avoiding the eye and lip area and after 10-15 minutes, wash off thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Ingredients:

Water, Kaolin, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG/PPG -17/6 Copolymer, Silica, Cetearyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Palmitic Acid, Betaine, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Bentonite, Stearic Acid, Viola tricolor Extract, Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Polysorbate 60, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cellulose Gum, Polyacrylate – 13, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyisobutene, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Montmorillonite, Mica (Cl 77019), Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ultramarines(Cl 77007), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491), Iron Oxides (Cl 77492)

My experience:

Do I like it? Hell yeah! With this mask a little goes a long way.  The tube of this clay mask contains 137 grams of product! It is huge and lasts me forever. If I would want to cover my entire body in clay I could use one of these and still have some left afterwards.

The consistency of clay is very soft and creamy. If you ever tried the Biotherm Wonder Mud, you know what to expect from this one. The color of it is pinkish with a slight tint of purple in it. It turns more violet on the skin once it is drying out. There is no scent to the clay that I can detect. It spreads out extremely well and when it dries it still somehow feels moisturizing .

I apply this Firming Natural Color Clay onto my entire face. I do use a brush for it to create more thin layer. I remember the first time I used it I was afraid it is going to pull on my skin so I just placed it only over my T-zone. Now that I know it is tug-free, it is my go-to mask when I want to reduce the shine of my face for the coming day.

I usually leave it on for 15 minutes. Within this time it is nearly completely dry. When I rinse it, it comes off in no time leaving my skin very smooth and matte. I pat my skin with a toner of my choice and apply my make-up.  After these steps my make-up sits on my face for an entire day and I don’t even have to use the blotting paper.

Final verdict: This mask is great to use if you need to wear make-up and be out an about for an entire day. By the end of the day you are left with flawlessly sitting make-up!

Pros:
+ Alcohol, sulfate and paraben free formula
+ Contains vitamin E
+ Enormous amount of product in the tube for a low price
+ Extremely suitable for my oily/combination skin
+ Does not break me out nor dries my skin out
+ Easy to apply and  washes off with ease
+ Perfect base for a makeup

Cons:
– Contains some ingredients that are not suitable for acne prone skin
– Firming claim is not met on my skin

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: bbcreamshop.eu and missha.nl
❇ Internationally: Available at yesstyle, skin18 and many other webshops
❇ Price is 8,95€-14,63€ depending on where you get it from

SpaLife Pore Refining Lemongrass Facial Masks – 10 pack

Today’s review is about the 10 pack set of Pore Refining Lemongrass Facial Masks made by SpaLife.  I found them in the TKmaxx, the shop where often snoop around when I am in the city center. Last week they had restocked their sheet mask section so I spent quite a lot of time choosing some masks that I din’t try yet. That’s how I came across this big value pack containing 10 masks in it.

Claims from the manufacturer:

Naturally astringent, Lemongrass tightens skin and constricts pores. Its antibacterial properties help remove impurities and free radicals.

Directions from the manufacturer:

Open package and simply pat mask on face, leave for 20 minutes. Gently remove the mask and lightly massage any remaining serum into your skin. Do not rinse. Discard the mask after single use.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Polysorbate 80, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Citrate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Chlorphenesin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My experience:

The seal above the ziplock closure was easy to remove. Once I opened the pack I immediately picked up the typical fresh citronella scent. All 10 masks inside the bag are folded along the length and are easy to separate from each other. The cotton sheet is thick and full of essence.

Once I unfolded the sheet I noticed that it is smaller than any other masks I’ve used. After I applied it onto my face and saw that the part above the eyes was quite short, leaving a mask-free gap which was more than a centimeter high. I didn’t like that so I reapplied the mask.  By that I won approximately 0,5cm of space and my forehead was not feeling bare anymore.

The sheet is made of very thick cotton that is not too flexible. I feel that with the next application I will be cutting it here and there so that it won’t  let so much air under the sheet. I definitely need at leas 3 more cuts. One in the middle of my chin and 2 somewhere in the temple area or on the forehead.

Once applied, my skin felt slight tingling sensation and started to cool off. I thought that mask had menthol in it but the only ingredient I could find that does it to my skin is the witch hazel. It was a pleasant sensation and I think that this type of mask is perfect for people who go on vacation and need some hydration after being in the sun.

The pack said to keep it on for 20 minutes so I did. The final results of this mask were quite pleasant. My skin was well hydrated and had no sticky feel to it. It seemed more brighter and felt definitely tighter, especially in the area around the mouth.

It is definitely a nice mask but if I would be the manufacturer I would reconsider the quality of the sheet used for it.

Pros:
+ Paraben, sulfate and alcohol free formula
+ Has a lovely citronella like scent to it
+ Economic pack
+ Perfect for when on vacation
+ Cheap price
+ Lovely ingredients
+ Unique packaging

Cons:
– Contains fragrance
– Thick sheet makes application more difficult
– Quite small size of the mask in the forehead area
– Ziplock style packaging is less hygienic in use than single pack masks

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE:TKmaxx stores
❇ Internationally: Available at myspalife and amazon
❇ Price varies between 5,99€ and 18€ for a pack of 10

Sisley Gel Express aux Fleurs mask (Express Flower Gel Hydrating Mask)

Today’s review is about the Sisley Gel Express aux Fleurs mask. This mask is  my least favorite from all of the masks I’ve tried so far from this brand.  Unfortunately it doesn’t do much on my skin in terms of hydration and removing signs of fatigue. The only reason I still use it is because it is quite good at evening my skin tone for those days when I am absolutely not in the mood for wearing makeup.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ BENEFITS
Express Flower Gel is a very fresh, moisturizing, and toning cream-gel mask specifically designed for dehydrated, lifeless, or tired-looking skin. Through its exceptional concentration of moisturizing active ingredients (Lily and Iris extracts), it regenerates (Sesame extract), hydrates, tones, removes traces of fatigue and stress, smoothes features, and evens the complexion in just 3 minutes.

❇ RESULTS
Skin is left toned and hydrated and features are smoothed. Signs of fatigue and stress fade away and skin is left looking magnificent.

Directions from the manufacturer:

Two to three times a week, apply to clean, dry skin on the face and neck, including the eye contour. Allow to remain on the skin for 3 minutes, then wipe away the excess. It is not necessary to rinse. This gel is ideal for restoring skin for a well-rested appearance before an evening out.

Ingredients:

Active ingredients (listed on the manufacturer’s website):
❇ White Lily: hydrates, softens
❇ Sesame: hydrates, protects, and regenerates
❇ Rose: Freshens, softens, astringent
❇ Iris: softens, tones

Full list of ingredients (not listed on the manufacturer’s website):
Water, Rosa Centifolia (Cabbage Rose) Water, Dimethicone, Iris Florentina Root Extract, Sorbitol, LiliumCandidum Flower Extract, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, SesamumIndicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Butylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/ C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate, Crosspolymer, Octoxynol-13, Sodium Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol, ChlorhexidineDigluconate, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Geraniol, Citronellol.

My experience:

I bought this mask from the parfumswinkel.nl. Prior to buying it I tested it out in the store and was hoping that this mask will deliver as good results as the Black Rose Cream Mask.

The Express Flower Gel Hydrating Mask comes in a nice pale blue semi-transparent tube with a plastic seal. With help of the cap you can easily remove it and get to the product itself. Cream-gel is whitish in color and looks quite thick. Once you start spreading it out it turns into more gel like consistency and gives off light fragrance that disappears in seconds.

I tried using it for advised 3 minutes and didn’t like the fact that within that time it does absolutely nothing to my skin. The only thing I am left with is a sticky finish. Wiping it off with simple tissue won’t do. I have to use my toner to fully get rid off the tacky residue.

After trying it out in the different ways I do think that the best results on me are achieved when I leave it overnight just like with a regular sleeping mask. In the morning I rinse of my face and it looks more glowing and semi-hydrated.  I do have a big downside to report! It is packed with comedogenic ingredients that occasionally break me out when my skin is more sensitive than usual. Would I buy it again? Definitely not! I would rather splurge a bit more and get the Black Rose mask instead.

Pros:
+ Sulfate and alcohol free
+ Best suitable for normal or dry skin types
+ Light fresh fragrance
+ Light hydration effects on my skin
+ Evens the skin tone

Cons:
– Contains parabens and silicones
– Contains 5 comedogenic ingredients
– Not suitable for acne prone skin
– Overpriced for what it does
– Leaves a tacky film on the skin
– Sometimes it breaks me out

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: ICI PARIS XL and  Douglas shops
❇ Internationally: Available at sisley, amazon and many other webshops
❇ Price is +/- 95€ per 60ml tube

polish’d Detoxifying Charcoal Sheet Mask

Today’s mask still remains a big mystery for me. Why? Well I can not find any information on the polish’d Detoxifying Charcoal Sheet Mask in terms of manufacturer’s website, places where to buy it online nor the ingredients of it. What I have is the packaged sheet with the basic claims, instructions how to use it and some warnings.

Claims from the manufacturer:

Minimize the appearance of your pores and brighten your skin with the detoxifying charcoal mask, while also removing blackheads, impurities, and excess oils. (Original grammar and punctuation from the pack are intact)

Directions from the manufacturer:

For best results thoroughly  clean face, removing any makeup prior to applying the mask. Evenly pat the sheet mask onto the face using your fingers. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes. Remove the facial mask and massage the remaining serum into the face until it is fully absorbed.

WARNING: For external use only. Do not use on irritated, broken, swollen, sunburned, sensitive, excessively dry or acne prone skin. The pore purifying results may feel intense when removing the mask. To lessen the intensity, peel the mask off from the forehead to the chin in a downward motion. (Original grammar and punctuation from the pack are intact)

Ingredients:

Not available

My experience:

Oh boy, was I in for a ride with this one. So many surprises in one mask! Once I took it out of the pack I first thought it was just regular black charcoal sheet what is quite popular nowadays. Nop! The mask itself was made from standard white stretchy cotton and had a plastic coating that needed to be removed once applied on the face.(B.t.w. it would be nice if it was to be mentioned in the directions part on the mask).  The sheet was coated in black colored serum. Another surprise!

I was sniffing it like a hound before I could sense mild lavender fragrance.  So one ingredient besides the water and charcoal is discovered! I applied it onto my face noticing how narrow the cutouts for the eyes and mouth were. Application process was short, mask went on perfectly. Adherence was excellent.  I did get the serum into my eye and it turned red immediately. I gently patted my eye off with cotton ball soaked in water and the unpleasant burning feeling was quickly gone.

I kept this mask on for 20 full minutes  but it felt like I could go much longer with it on my face. I didn’t want to take the gamble and removed it according to what it said on the pack. While wearing it I managed to scare my hubby so he is not speaking to me now.

After I removed it off my face it had residue of black particles all over my face. According to the manufacturer I was supposed to leave it like that. No thank you! So I rinsed the black goo off and inspected my face. My skin was much smoother. I get the same feeling after my peeling by Philosophy. Something in it is definitely of acid origin! In terms of brightening, it lightened my face a bit, but not much.

Do I like this product? Not sure yet. We’ll see tomorrow if I get any breakouts from it as it said on the pack it is not suitable for acne prone skin.

Pros:
+ Unique masking experience
+ Nice sleek front of the packaging
+ Suitable for oily skin
+ Smooths and brightens the skin

Cons:
– Back of the packaging is missing the ingredients
– Didn’t like the stinging of the serum in my eye
– Not suitable for all the skin types
– Contains fragrance
– No information available on the manufacturer of this product
– Needs rinsing off
– Quite drying for the skin

Acai Berry Moisturising + Brightening sheet mask by Vitamasques

Today’s mask review is about the Acai Berry Moisturising + Brightening sheet mask by Vitamasques. I stumbled upon the 4-pack while shopping at Tkmaxx and want to share my thoughts on it with you.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Moisturizing + Revitalizing

❇ A moisturizing Korean face mask made with extracts of the Acai Berry to tighten and smooth your skin. The acai berry has many antioxidant and healing properties for your body. Acai is not only good for the inside of your body, but also good for your skin on the outside.

❇ Our Acai Berry mask gives your skin its much need multivitamin shot. All the way from the forests of the great Amazon basin, acai berry is loaded with Vitamins A, B, C, E and a number of antioxidants. It is a power packed nutrient dense berry good for not only your body, but also for your skin. With all its powers, acai is a perfect anti-ageing treatment you can offer your skin. To top it off, it has the most antioxidants among all berries available, making it the best skin food. One acai berry contains 10 times the amount antioxidants as grapes. Go ahead, nourish with the best. Your skin will thank you.

❇  Inspired by Korean innovation, a triple layer sheet technology designed to enhance the moisture content within the mask and lead to an increased absorption rate within the skin.

Directions from the manufacturer:

Wash and cleanse your face in preparation for applying your face mask. Remove the mask from the packaging and place it tightly on the face avoiding the eyes and lips. After 10 – 20 minutes, remove the sheet from the face and gently pat your face to let the remaining essence absorb into the skin. It is recommended for maximum benefit that the mask be left on for an extended period. This will allow the serum to properly soak into the skin.

Ingredients (not listed on the manufacturer’s website):

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract (10,000ppm), Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, PEG-100 Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Carbomer, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Disdodium EDTA, Fragrance

My experience:

To cut the chase, this mask is never going to be in my favorites. The composition of the essence together with the ill fit of the mask made this product an immediate fail for me.  The packaging of the Acai Berry Moisturising + Brightening sheet mask is very promising, nice description on the back written in excellent English, pretty front. What is there not to like? Once you open the pack you immediately sense the berry fragrance, light like a jam.

After taking mask out of the pack it was soaked in the white creamy essence.   I applied it onto my face struggling here and there. I would prefer to cut extra slits into the sheet because it is quite thick and mask tended to slide over my face. On top of it the sheet was not fully soaked in the essence leaving me with dry patches along the folding lines. Not a good start!

After keeping this mask for 15 minutes on the sheet was nearly dried out so I removed the mask and went to the mirror to check how much brighter my face got. Nop, not even a hue lighter. I was quite disappointed in that fact and went about my morning. After an hour time I accidentally touched my face and I instantly felt that it was extremely oily. Not regular sebum oily, but unpleasantly oily.  I immediately rinsed my face off and applied my regular moisturizer.

I would not known if other people have experienced the same with this sheet mask but to me it feels like it is absolutely not suitable for my skin. Biggest downside of it to me is the greasiness it left me with and the fact that it doesn’t brighten my skin. Moisturizing? Yes! Brightening? No! Something that it was supposed to be doing according to how it is named.

Pros:
+ Sulfate paraben and alcohol free ingredients
+ Cute packaging
+ Mild berry scent
+ Good instructions on the pack
+ Affordable price

Cons:
– Contains fragrance
– Does nothing to my face in terms of revitalizing
– Sheet is not evenly soaked in essence
– Sheet adherence is moderate to poor

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: TKmaxx shops
❇ Internationally: Available at beautybay and manufacturer’s website
❇ Price is 6,99€ per set of 4 sheet masks

QBEKA snake venom rejuvenating mask

QBEKA snake venom rejuvenating mask is stated to be a biological fiber mask from China. From what I can tell it is a bio-cellulose product but it is way thicker than any regular bio-cellulose masks I’ve ever tried.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Contain superior rejuvenating energy, activate the potential in deep skin.
❇ Adopt advanced biological fiber, perfectly attach on skin, deliver snake venom active peptide and other medical cosmetology ingredients into deep skin, reduce dry and fine lines, fade dull tone, shrink rough pores, prevent early ageing of skin cells, and keep skin smooth, moist, lustrous and delicate with rejuvenating function as a miracle.
❇ Royal superior skincare, Integration of natural beauty and advanced technology.

Directions from the manufacturer:

After skin cleaning, take out the mask from the bag, the mask has 3 layers, remove the reticular layer. Apply the middle layer which is the biological fiber mask on the face, remove the smooth layer, adjust the mask to make it perfectly attach on skin.  Keep it on skin for 15-20min, remove the mask, wash free, gently massage skin to absorb the remained essence.

Ingredients:

Deionized water,1-3 butanediol,methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate,aloe,hydrolyzed collagen,hyaluronic acid,tranexamic acid,vitamin B5,Palmitoyl Oligopeptide,Palmitoyl Oligopeptide-7,Palmitoyl Oligopeptide-3, tripeptide-10

My experience:

I was quite skeptical about this sheet mask. It’s manufactured by a Chinese brand QBEKA. I was searching for some time and still didn’t find any information or their website. That is very funky in such digital era. Oh well, I took the risk getting it anyway. My experience with it was very neutral.

The package is well made and opens up very easily. Once I opened the sachet, I saw that the serum was milky-white, more of a lotion consistency. There is no smell to the essence at all. I found it promising. The sheet of the mask is made of what looks like extra thick bio-cellulose sheet sandwiched in between 2 white fiber layers.

Application of this mask was easy-peezy. There are no any additional cuts except the holes for the eyes and a cut-out for a nose flap. I thought that I would neet to do some tailoring with scissors but the mask adhered to my face surprisingly well. I enjoyed walking around with it and even managed to pluck some weeds in the garden. The sheet of the mask didn’t move.

Once I removed the sheet after 20 minutes of wear I’ve noticed that it did get thinner. Now it was shrunk to the thickness of a bio-cellulose mask that I was more familiar with. I patted the leftover essence into my face, waited until it dried and looked in the mirror for any signs of brightening and dark spot reduction. Nope, nothing. Nonetheless the QBEKA snake venom rejuvenating mask has hydrated my skin very well. That’s about it.

Pros:
+ Affordable bio-cellulose mask
+ Alcohol, paraben and sulfate free mask
+ Hydrates my skin well
+ Unscented
+ Suitable for all skin types
+ Good fit and adherence

Cons:
– Claims to do it all but in the end the results are only hydrating on me
– English translation on the pack is just hideous
– Absence of the ingredients in English on the pack

Where to buy:
❇ NL: Not available in the Dutch webshops
❇ Internationally: Available at aliexpress
❇ Price is 13,29€ for the pack of 5

Once you open the bright red sachet, you immediately smell the fragrance. The essence smells of strawberry  ice-lollies and to be honest makes me veeery hungry at the moment (bad day for skipping the breakfast). The sheet is very thin and almost transparent and a bit rough to the touch.

For better application this sheet mask has 2 extra cuts made in the chin area. I applied this mask onto my face and indeed the sheet felt a bit coarse on my skin. Luckily there was plenty of essence absorbed in it which made it not a big deal for me. The essence is clear and slightly on the runny side. What is more important for me it is not sticky at all. I have a small cut in my finger and I felt that the essence caused some stinging in that area.

Once I took the sheet off and patted the leftover essence into my skin it looked brighter. I feel that the most difference I see in the mirror is not achieved by the skin tone change  but rather that my pigment spots are now less visible to the naked eye. I do like this effect. It made me not want to wear make-up as my skin glows so nicely after this mask. Overal a good product for the daily use. Will buy it again if I see it in the shops.

Pros:
+ Alcohol, paraben and sulfate free formula
+ Suitable for all the skin types
+ Nice quality sheet that adheres well onto the skin
+ Perfect for the daily use when you
+ Fresh strawberry ice-lolly scent
+ Battles my pigment spots well

Cons:
– Hard to find in NL and EU webshops
– Contains fragrance
– I wish the sheet could be a bit more elastic instead of being stiff

Where to buy:

❇ Internationally: Available at ebay and roseroseshop

Innisfree It’s real squeeze mask – Green tea

Today I am reviewing the It’s real squeeze mask with the Green tea by Innisfree. This sheet mask is an affordable and quite good quality sheet mask suitable for for the daily use.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Soothing and moisturizing effects of green tea extracts.
❇ Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, white lotus, camelia, and orchid.
❇ Three-layered sheet for longer moisturizing and great adherence.

Directions from the manufacturer:

After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Betaine, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Extract, Lactic Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My experience:

To me this mask feels like it is lacking something. Yes it is nice and hydrating, it meets it’s claims, there is a nice fragrance to it. But yet, something is still missing to make it my go to product.

Once you open the packet you smell the hint of the freshly brewed green tea. The mask in the pack is made of thin cotton sheet that is slightly rough to the touch. I applied it onto my face and noticed the cooling effect of the essence immediately. The big downside of the sheet for me is the fit of this mask. I have quite prominent nose and no matter how I try to push it down around my nose, the sheet keeps lifting up. Even when  I wear my glasses over it it seems to have air around the nose bridge area.

I ended up cutting the mask down the lines of the nose flap so that it fits my face beter. The sheet has 2 cuts on the shin area which I felt were very necessary.

After full 15 minutes I took the mask off and was left with baby smooth skin that was moderately hydrated. The leftover essence was completely absorbed by my skin after a minute. I did enjoy the final result but there wasn’t immediate ” WOW this stuff is awesome” going on as with some of my favorite masks. Overall a simple sheet mask not without it’s flaws. It does what it promises and has an affordable price tag to it. Applying make-up over it is possible but on that day I didn’t do it.

Pros:
+ Affordable price
+ Nice natural green tea scent
+ This sheet mask meets it’s claims
+ Paraben and sulfate free formula
+ Suitable for oily and combination skin types

Cons:
– Sheet needs altering for my face shape
– Contains quite a lot of alcohol and fragrance
– Not suitable for dry and sensitive skins for a long term use
– Not an easy to buy product in EU webshops

Where to buy:
