WYT Oxygen AHA Bubble Peeling Mask by NEOGEN

WYT Oxygen AHA Bubble Peeling Mask by NEOGEN is a staple product of many and today I will review this sheet mask for you.

Claims from the manufacturer:

This Oxygen AHA Bubble Peeling Mask has an impressive skin clearing formula containing AHA and BHA that will suck out the dirt, clean the pores, and remove dead skin cells to leave the skin clear, smooth and glowing. Save yourself the manual exfoliation and deep cleansing headache as you sit back and watch the bubbles do your work!

Directions from the manufacturer:

1. After cleansing, retrieve the mask from the pouch and apply it on your face. Upon applying the mask, bubbles should start to foam and you will leave the mask on about 5-10mins. After leaving on for about 5-10mins, remove the mask and rinse the remaining product from your face until it is completely and thoroughly washed off.

Water(Aqua), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glycerin, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Lactic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Salicylic Acid, Papain, Trehalose, Tocopheryl Acetate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Oxygen, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Pyyrus malus (Apple) Fruit Water, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch hazel) Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, laminaria Japonica Extract, Polypodium Vulgare Rhizome Extract, Cetraria Islandica Thallus Extract, Sphagnum Magellanicum Extract, Propanediol, Maltose, Butylene Glycol, Cyclodextrin, Niacinamide, pathenol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Rutin, Tocopherol, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Polycaprolcactone, Retinol, Polysorbate 20, Carbon Dioxide, potassium Hydroxide, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, AHA1% (Lactic Acid + Tartaric Acid), Fragrance(Parfum)

My experience:

I’ve bought this sheet mask online because I ran out of my bubble peeling gel by MISSHA that I love to death. I thought why no tot try something else for a change and since NEOGEN products are on my “to test” list I decided to start with some peeling products from this brand.

The mask comes in black and white packaging with clear instructions written in English which is always a good thing. I’ve opened the pack and saw that the sheet was black. Once I touched it it felt very soapy and somewhat slime’ish. I immediately popped it onto my face and was staring in the mirror to see how fast it starts bubbling. After one minute my face was covered in bubbles but there were no accompanying bubbly sounds yet. After 5 minutes I started to hear light hissing and popping and my skin felt light tingling.

The thicker areas of my skin could tolerate it well but when it came to the spots around the eyes it started to burn. I tried pushing the mask around my eyes to create moe open space but that was not a great idea. The solution went everywhere and I did get it into my eye. I had to take the mask off and rince my eyes immediately. I know this is not adviced, but I quickly cut larger holes fr the eyes and popped the mask back for the remaining 5 minutes. It felt waay better this time.

My skin felt this amazing bubbling sensation  that I like so much from my peeling products. It was not harsh. On the other hand, the smell of this mask was. It is scented like those Citronella candles that are repelling mosquitoes. Well the smell repelled me too. After 10 full minutes of my face it didn’t disappear anywhere.  Huge downside for making this mask a pleasant experience. I really really hate the smell of this mask but I love what it does for my skin.

The rinsing off part is very fast. I am left with visibly brighter and squeaky clean face. What I felt immediately that I needed some hydration after this mask. I put on my Instytutum toner that is very rich and hydrating and my face looked flawless. NEOGEN does some serious business when it comes to the peeling products. What I can conclude so far is that I must try more of their sheet mask offerings to wether fall in love with them or stay neutral to this specific brand. My overall “go for it” advise when shopping for NEOGEN is their pads products and few items from the Agecure line. The reviews on these will follow as well so don’t forget to check my blog once in a while.

The WYT Oxygen AHA Bubble Peeling Mask was effective product for my skin type but I can never get used to the way it smells. Would I buy it again? Probably not. It was a pleasant experience but for less money I can control the areas of application using my favorite peeling gel that delivers same results and hydrates my skin.

It’s SKIN Power 10 Formula Mask VB

It’s SKIN Power 10 Formula Mask VB is a sheet mask belonging to the Power 10 skin care line. Each of the 10 masks targets a specific skin concern. The VB mask is meant to balance out the skin with the Vitamin B6 and is, in theory, a perfect product for the combi and oily skin types.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ The VB mask is enriched with vitamin B6 to balance the skin’s sebum production and restore moisture levels. Leaves the skin looking clearer and healthier.
❇ VB mask sheet delivers water-oil balance and sebum control effects on the skin. For oily, acne prone skin.
❇ Power 10 Formula Mask Sheet is clinging tightly and soft texture with highly enriched essence.

Directions from the manufacturer:

Apply mask over the cleansed face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then remove gently. Do not rinse. Pat the remaining serum into the skin until fully absorbed.

Water, Dipropylene Glycol , Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate , Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride , Dimethicone , Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate , PEG-100 Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Centella Asiatica Extract , Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract , 1,2-Hexanediol, Xanthan Gum , Tocopheryl Acetate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract , Glyceryl Caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trideceth-6, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract , Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens Extract , Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract , Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

My experience:

It’s SKIN Power 10 Formula Mask VB has a vitamin B6 rich formula that is meant to be used on the oily and combination skin types as it is a balancing mask. To begin with, the packaging is very sturdy and cute. Also not as big as other masks so it is easy to take with you on a vacation. The sheet itself is made of a very soft cotton fabric and feels nice and soft against the skin.

The actual essence is transparent and feels like gel. Nearly all of it is on the sheet and there are only few drops left in the bag. I’ve turned my sniffing skills to the max but couldn’t identify much scent. Even though the fragrance is listed as the last ingredient, none is found by me. The essence absorbs fast and the wearing time is 20 minutes. Hence I would not advise attempting keeping it for longer that that.

After removing the sheet, my face is left moisturized and fresh looking. My face is very nice and smooth to the touch and there was no residue left on the skin after all of the essence has absorbed. Honestly, this particular mask doesn’t impress me at all. It does deliver decent results and meets it’s claims but for some reason I don’t feel like I need it in my life as much as for example my Blithe masks. Maybe it is because when it comes to the sebum and pore control, the charcoal masks seem to be more efficient and pore minimizing on my skin than this particular sheet mask from It’s SKIN.

+ Contains anti-aging ingredients
+ Rich in hydrating plant extracts
+ Suitable for oily and combination skin
+ Great quality cotton sheet
+ Good adherence and fit of the mask
+ Delivers hydration yet manages to mattify the face
+/- Even though the fragrance is added to the ingredient list, it feels like it is unscented. I can not identify any fragrance of it.

– Contains silicone and fragrance
– Price is quite high for what you get

INSTYTUTUM Alive Water is my savior for when it comes to hot and dry scorching weather. I’ve ran out of it before the summer and had to finish my other mistifying products before heading off and buying another one.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ Designed for those who understands the power of science, who embrace the benefits of pure water, who hold education close to their heart, and who believe that giving is a way of life.
❇ With INSTYTUTUM, your skin care routine will make an impact on the world by giving pure water to communities in need.
❇ Alive Water is a daily breath of fresh Adriatic sea air that will bring a feeling of refreshment to tired skin. Loved for it’s ability to cool down, soothe and comfort your skin, and to give a healthy hydrated glow so it may embrace the new day.

Directions from the manufacturer:

From a comfortable distance spray on your face and feel the perfectly balanced water working it’s magic as it cleans your skin.

Water, Propanediol, Levulinic Acid, Panthenol, Glycerin, Cystoseira Amentacea/Caespitosa Branchycarpa Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sucrose, Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment, Saccharomyces/Iron Ferment, Saccharomyces/Magnesium Ferment, Saccharomyces/Silicon Ferment, Saccharomyces/Zinc Ferment, Meristotheca Dakarensis Exract, Jania Rubens Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Potassium Sorbate, Crithmum Maritimum Extract.

My experience:

INSTYTUTUM Alive Water is one of the finest facia mists that I’v ever tried, and I tried many because I am all for the lazy skin care routines and freshness of my skin. I love to use facial mists and the name Alive Water simply called to me. After running out of my 1st bottle I finally got the 2nd one and could take decent photos of the product. I’ve fished it out from my stash because it was extremely hot for October in NL. Last 3 days it was 27 degrees Celsius  + dry air and my skin was begging for moisture.

sprayed up close

The water that is used in this mis is  filtered 5 times and it is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants which all boost collagen production. It is scentless liquid that comes in 50 ml travel size and has a beautiful packaging. Very minimalistic and luxurious looking, just the way I like it. I love how aesthetically beautiful the entire line from this brand looks. Well, used to look, they changed it in 2018 making it look horrendous and cheap. The classic white-silver packaging is as amazing as it’s contents.

This mist itself is very fine and layers well throughout the day even over the make-up. It is a perfect make-up spray for me, even though it is not marketed as that.  Overall, it leaves my skin looking healthier. It also applies well over the existing sunscreen which is a great bonus. I tried using it after my gym routines or cycling outdoors but I’ve found a better skin soothing alternative for this purpose. For now this mist will go into my travel must-haves for the coming vacation as it saved my skin on our last trip to the scorching Africa.

+ Perfect travel size packaging
+ Amazing make-up setting spray
+ Extremely fine mist particles
+ Soothing and hydrating
+ Alcohol, silicone, paraben, sulfate free formulation
+ Suitable for all skin types

– Steep price
– Hard to get in NL

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: TKmaxx stores
❇ Internationally: Available at manufacturer’s website
❇ Price is +/- 20€ per 50 ml travel size bottle. Original 150 ml bottle retails for 30€

MISSHA Black Ghassoul Peel Off Nose Pack

MISSHA Black Ghassoul Peel Off Nose Pack contains 50 grams of product and is one of the stronger peel off packs from the ones I’ve tried. It also has very thick consistency and a light wet ground scent to it. Very natural but odd for cosmetic products you put extremely close for your nose.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇  Squeezing peel-off type nose pack cleaning pores by perfectly removing black heads and white heads with a benefit of Black Ghassoul, mysterious soil from Marocco.
❇ Black Ghassoul provides lots of important moisture with minerals and magnesium and leaves a fresh afterfeel.
❇ *Containing Ecocert certified Moroccan Ghassoul.

Directions from the manufacturer:

After washing your face, prepare the skin with toner. Apply an appropriate amount over the nose area and leave it for 15 minutes until completely dry, Peel off the mask from bottom to top at once.

Tip: More effective after using steamed towel. Before applying mask, apply small amount of moisturizing essence to minimize irritations on the skin.

Water, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Alcohol Denat., PVP, Glycerin, Charcoal Powder, Iron Oxides CI77499, Butylene Glycol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Trehalose, Titanium Dioxide CI77891, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract, Rhus Semialata Gall Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Methyl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Sodium Acetate, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Arctium Majus Root Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Sanguisorba Officinalis Root Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Uncaria Gambir Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Extract, Juniperus Communis Fruit Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Hypericum Perforatum Extract, Saponaria Officinalis Root Extract, Moroccan Lava Clay.

My experience:

When it comes to the pore cleansing peel-off masks I am pretty sure I have tried them all. This particular peel off product was a part of the set that I’ve bought and it came as a bonus to my main 2 items I was hunting down, the ghassoul cleansing bar and the ghassoul clay pack. So I thought why not to review them all at some point and today is the day for the Ghassoul Peel Off Nose Pack.

The tub contains 50 ml of product which is a lot for a local treatment. If you use it on an entire face (strongly not advised) you will run out of it quite fast. I usually use these type of peel offs only on my nose and when necessary on the forehead. Some people may apply these on the chin, but definitely do not attempt using it near the hair line or on sensitive areas. You will epilate your face! Ouch, ouch and more ouch!

The consistency of this peel off mask is not droopy as other similar products. It is very thick and almost clay like. You have to apply it in a thin layer! Try to steam your face in advance so that your  pores are open. In that way this mask will grab onto the debris from your pores much better and the extraction will be less painful, especially if your skin is sensitive.

The thicker the layer-the longer the drying time. This mask definitely contains particles of the soil and it makes the drying time even longer. After 20 minutes of drying  everything comes off in 1 piece and it pulls out everything from my pores!!! I would not purchase this mask again simply because the scent of it is just not my cup of tea.

+ Paraben and Sulfate free formula
+ Contains a lot of herbal and mineral ingredients
+ Great adhesion power
+ Removes a lot of blackheads
+ Does not tug on the skin as much as similar peel-off masks
+ Economic in use

– Contains alcohol (as any other peel off mask do)
– Contains fragrance
– Drying time is on a longer side

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: bbcreamshop.eu and missha.nl
❇ Internationally: Available at misshadeutchland, amazon, ebay and other online retailers
❇ Price is +/- 11€ per 50 ml tube when you purchase it outside the set

Water Bomb Jelly Mask – Moisture by BERRISOM

Water Bomb Jelly Mask – Moisture by BERRISOM is one of the 4 jelly masks that this brand is famous for. I’ve got my hand on 3 of them and I will review all 3 of them in time starting with the moisture mask.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ A nourishing face mask for dry skin types.
❇ Offering 120 hours of hydration, WaterBomb Jelly Mask – Moisture is packed with skin soaking favourites that slow moisture evaporation and prolong soft, plump skin. Perfect for a dry, tired complexion, use as necessary to instantly boost brightness and visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Directions from the manufacturer:

Place mask over clean, dry skin. Leave for 15-20 minutes before removing. Dispose of mask and pat excess serum into the skin.

Water/Eau, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Polyacrylic Acid, Dimethicone, Milk Protein Extract, Honey Extract, Potassium Hydroxide, Cellulose Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Octyldodecanol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens Extract, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide Np, Tamarindus Indica Seed Polysaccharide, Trehalose, Mentha Spicata Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Silica, Lecithin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Myrothamnus Flabellifolia Leaf Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance/Parfum

My experience:

First of all, the packaging is nice and clear. It has all the necessary descriptions available in english and an easy opening. Once you open the bag you are knocked out by the strong scent of the gel. And by strong I mean very strong. I can live with strongly scented masks but not with these water bomb jelly maks. All of them have kind of similar scent that is verging chemical citronella/artificial lemon fragrance and something very sweet. The exception was this moisture mask. It smells like a laundry detergent straight from the box.

After you get used to the scent (joking, you never will), it’s time to get the sheet out. It comes out with a big blob of jelly attached to it. But once jelly contacts your skin, it starts melting down into more watery consistency and eventually dripping down the chin. As for the fit and adherence of the mask, both are excellent. The fabric of this mask series is made of the similar synthetic material that is used in Blithe masks. So what about the results?

Each of the masks in this series are made to hydrate your skin. And they are pretty good at doing so. Unfortunately they are too overpriced for the results. they deliver on my dehydrated skin.  The claim of 120 hours of moisture is far fetched. It doesn’t last for 24h either. I’d say 8-12 hours at most and then you need to consider some other mask. Will I be buying it again? No. I don’t want to sound like a nagging Nancy but this entire series is a huge fail from the brand.

+ Cute packaging
+ Amazing fit and adherence
+ Paraben, sulfate and alcohol free formula

– Bad smell of the essence
– Wonky consistency of the essence
– Overpriced
– Zero results besides basic hydration
– Contains fragrance and silicone

Where to buy:
❇ NL and BE: I’ve got mine from boozyshop but it is not available anymore
❇ Internationally: Available at amazon and beautybay
❇ Price is +/- 4€ per one mask

The Pyunkang Yul 3 Step Mask

The Pyunkang Yul 3 Step Mask is a new and very promising, yet inexpensive, 3-step sheet mask that delivers great hydration to my oily and blemish prone skin. I’ve got the 5-mask box from iHerb and they just arrived at my doorstep today.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ The type Peeling Gel gently exfoliates skin removing dead cells and prepping skin for the sheet mask.
❇ The Essence Toner Mask. This sheet mask is made with the same fabric used in Pyunkang Yul’s ⅓ Cotton Pad, which is designed to deliver products to skin more effectively than the traditional versions by soaking up the liquid product and then releasing it back when pressed onto skin.
❇ The Essence Toner, made up of 91.3% milk vecht root extract, full of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, nutrient-boosting properties.
❇ The Balancing Gel seals in all the moisture and strengthens skin’s moisture barrier for long-lasting hydration.
❇ Great for all skin types, especially those dealing with trouble-prone, imbalanced skin.

Directions from the manufacturer:

1. Spread Peeling Gel over wet skin and massage in a circular motion to remove dead skin cells and other impurities. Rinse well.
2. Apply Essence Toner Sheet Mask, adjusting around eyes and mouth. Enjoy 10-20 minutes of sheet masking.
3. Spread Balancing Gel, and then gently tap and press until gel is fully absorbed.

Peeling Gel: 2 ml
Water, Propylene Glycol, Carbomer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine Salicylate, Quaternium-60, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyethyl Urea

Essence Toner Mask: 25 ml
Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Arginine

Balancing Gel: 2 ml
Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Polysorbate 80, PEG-150 Distearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Polysorbate 20, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate

My experience:

I’ve tried out some samples from the Pyunkang Yul in the past and I am definitely going to invest into a bunch of the products I’ve sampled once I’m done testing the Whamisa line. I’m using it for the first time today and having it on my face while typing this review.

First of all, the ingredient list is the cleanest from what I have ever encountered. Well, 2nd cleanest after the IUNIK Beta-glucan serum that actually has only 1 ingredient in it, but I’ll brag about that wonder in one of the next posts. All three products presented in this 3-step mask are amazing and can be purchased on their own. I love how some brands make those extra ampoules, cleansers, peels e.t.c. available to the public in case your skin only agrees with one formula out of the three. In case of this particular trio, my skin loved them all and want some more.

All three steps are unscented but I can sometimes catch a hint of some plant scent. It is barely noticeable and disappears fast. The first step, peeling gel, has a light and watery texture to it. Once it touches the skin it feels very refreshing and cooling. I kept it on for 2 minutes and started rubbing my face to ball up all the gunk. After this step washing face is mandatory!

peeling gel
peeling applied

Step 2, the sheet mask, left me speechless. It is made of softest cotton and is quite fragile. Do not pull hard on the edges as you may tear the fabric. The amount of essence (classic brand toner) is enormous. I was afraid that the liquid will drip off my face but none of it happened. There is no scent to it, it is translucent and bouncy in it’s texture. The wearing time is somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. After removing the mask it is still damp and I can still could squeeze out plenty of product.  My skin is left super nourished and packed with moisture.

sheet mask

The remaining liquid absorbed very fast and I proceeded to the next step, the balancing gel. Oh what a surprise it was. The texture on this thing is  a complete dupe of the J.One Jelly Pack. The main difference is that it is unscented and has a less priming (make-up gripping) finish to it. Yet the application and the way it lays over the skin for after first 10 minutes is identical. Do not try to drag the gel over your face, it will ball up and lay uneven on your skin. Instead, tap-tap-tap with your palms and let it absorb entirely.

balancing gel
the end result

What about the end results? Well, I am in love with this mask! Totally head over heels. I am left with moisturized radiant skin with zero tackiness. There are no irritants in any of the ingredients and I’ve already set 2 of the masks aside for my upcoming vacation. From the results I’ve got today, I am certain it will rescue my skin after first days in the sun. I’ve also placed a new order even though I was promising to myself that I will go on a no-buy till Christmas. They are totally worth it and I have a feeling that my holy grail hydrating mask from Mediheal has to share it’s status with this beauty.

PY cotton pad fabric is the same as the cotton fabric used in the mask

Would I advise it? YES! to all of you with acne prone, irritated, red, dehydrated, sensitive skin. It will cool down the redness and hydrate your skin to the brim.

+ Amazing fit and adherence of the sheet
+ 100% cotton fabric
+ Great travel assistant/SOS maks
+ Suitable for absolutely all skin types and concerns
+ Beautiful packaging
+ Meets it’s claims100%

– Not for sale in the EU (hopefully, yet)

MIZON Apple Smoothie Peeling Gel

MIZON Apple Smoothie Peeling Gel is a decent product for it’s price. Beware though! It does contain several non-friendly ingredients so people who have a sensitive skin should stay away from it.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ This ultra-gentle exfoliating gel rids the skin of dead skin cells and dirt without harsh chemicals or skin-irritating microbeads. We see why this has received so much love in Korea.
❇ Natural papaya extract contains papain which “digests” dead and/or damaged skin tissue while leaving new, healthy tissue intact for incredibly easy and effective exfoliation
❇ Apple extract contains natural alpha hydroxy acids which further contributes to gentle exfoliation for smoother, brighter skin. Apple is also astringent, tightening pores and helping to clear acne-causing agents
❇ Citrus extracts brighten skin to make it clearer and more radiant

Directions from the manufacturer:

Use 2-3 times weekly. Wash face, dry face and leave the gel on for 1-2 minutes. Gently massage the gel on the face and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Concentrate the product on dry flakes and pores to buff skin to a smooth finish.

Water, Cellulose, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Glycolic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract,  Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharium (Sugar Maple) Extract, Sclerotium Gum, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Gypsophila Paniculata Root Extract, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My experience:
gel is very thick and has a pleasant scent to it

I’ve got a confession to make. I barely use my peeling creams and gels. I never had found one that would satisfy my nose and my wallet untill I’ve met the MIZON brand product. It is very comparable to the peeling gel from Secret Key but I’m not a big fan of it’s scent. MIZON apple fragrance (which is added into the product) is not strong and reminds me of juicy green apples. You only need a little of the product to cover up your entire face if you don’t exfoliate any other areas of your body. In my case, what you see on the picture is the amount for my face, neck, décolleté and elbows (yes, got rough skin the and this stuff works wonders on dry patches).

As with every peeling gel, it is fairly simple in use. I like to leave it on for 5 minutes before actually starting to rub. Out f experience with other similar products, it loosens up the dead skin cells more productively and I don’t need to roll the gel around my face (and body) for too long. I tend to use this peeling right before I hop into the shower. In that way I don’t neet to meddle around my sink an can wash the product debris off within seconds.

The gel is very gentle and effective and meets it’s claims. My skin is left soft and supple after use. It doesn’t scream for moisture after I walk out of the shower. I proceed with my skin care and apply a toner and a hydrating mask afterwards to rebalance my skin. Is it the best of the bunch? Not really. I do prefer this one over other brand only due to the fact that it has a pleasant smell to it. For the rest, my MISSHA Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Visible Deep Cleanser peeling does a better job at nourishing and hydrating my skin.

+ Easy to buy nearly in every K-beauty store in NL and BE
+ Decent content:value ratio
+ Great non artificial apple scent
+ Liquid and easily spreadable consistency
+ Rich in anti-oxidants

– Would prefer the product coming in the bottle with pump
– Contains alcohol, parabens and fragrance

My experience:
it looks like there is only essence inside

This mask is made of something that I’ve never  ever seen before in other sheet masks. The consistency of the hydrogel is less dense making it very fragile yet most effective masks in my entire experience of masking. I’ve fell in love with the toner from this brand and I’ve decided to expand my horizons towards the masks as they did seem to deliver good results for other people.

First of all, the scent of all of the Whamisa hydrogel masks are heavenly. This particular Organic Seeds & Rice Fermented Hydrogel Mask had the mildest fragrance of all three. The ingredient list is the bomb! Everything is natural and organic and EWG certified. Of course there is a huge price tag attached to the “all organic” tag but it is wort it to at least try the mask once in your life to see how well it performs. I slipped my whishlist note to my Santa already and these are on the nr 1 place in the list for coming Christmas.

The hydrogel itself is very translucent and has the same color as the essence. It is a 2-part mask which ensures a great fit for every face shape. To me it felt like the forehead area could be a bit longer because there was approximately 2 cm stripe of uncovered skin left. I could live with that but some of you may not like it so much. It is a lot of money to pay and you do expect great fitting product.

Application time was 40 minutes for me! Very impressive and I felt like this mask could still be left on for another 10 or so minutes easily. My skin was left calmed down, it was seemingly brighter and felt super soft to the touch. I didn’t feel like there was need for more moisture but just in case I’ve applied my Whamisa lotion to pack all the goodness under a protective layer. The best changes in my skin appeared the next day. I’ve produced very little oil through-ought the day and I’ve gotten tons of compliments that I looked very glowy. I agree, I was glowy from within rather than from the surface oils. Very pleasant experience.

brightening effects are super noticeable with this one

Oh, before I forget. The essence is very slippery so do lay down and enjoy the time you get to use this gorgeous product on the skin!!!!It is definitely worth the price when it comes to the sensory experience with this product. I highly recommend this one in particular.

SKINFOOD Seaweed Marine Food Gel Mask

SKINFOOD Seaweed Marine Food Gel Mask is part of the 5 hydrogel masks from the Marine food series launched by SKINFOOD couple of years ago.  They are not easy to find in EU even though they are of an excellent quality for people with all skin types.

Claims from the manufacturer:

❇ A refreshing and moisturizing gel mask infused with seaweed extracts and blue marine complex for intense hydration.
❇ Use to soothe and calm a sun-stressed complection.

Directions from the manufacturer:

After cleansing your face, use toner and place mask onto face. Remove after 10-20 minutes and pat excess essence for absorption.

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Ceratonia Siliqua Gum Extract, Chondrus Crispus Powder, Sodium Polyacrylate, Croscarmellose, Polysorbate 20, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trideceth-6, Algae Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Gelldium Amansii Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Sea Water, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance.

My experience:

To me this SKINFOOD Seaweed Hydrogel mask is a good skin refreshing and hydrating mask that is a good make-up base for the day. The mask comes in gorgeous blue packaging that is easy to open. Unfortunately the back side is all in Korean so no idea what it says there. Inside the pack there are 2 pieces of hydrogel (for upper and lower halves of the face). Each piece is protected by 2 pieces of plastic shielding, one thinner and one hard one. The scent of the essence is amazing. It seems like the same type of fragrance is used in scenting each and every mask from this range. The fragrance is floral and marine at the same time. Very yummy.

Essence is transparant and semi-liquid ensuring that this mask won’t glide of your face. The adherence and fit are as good as they can get. The luxuriously thick gel hugs my face in the right places. The eye cutouts are also well positioned and have a nice cut so that the edges of the mask don’t irritate the area close to my eyes. There is a thin sheet of fabric embedded in the gel and sometimes they may cause irritation in the areas with sensitive skin.

After 40 minutes my skin is supercharged with moisture. What is very lovely about this mask is that it leaves little to no tacky residue, same as the sea cucumber and jellyfish masks. My skin is fresh, extremely hydrated and cooled down.  Loving this mask series a lot. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you have oily and dehydrated skin. This version and the seaweed one are most suitable for you. If your skin is more on the normal-dry side, get the oyster or sea cucumber mask.

+  Paraben, Sulfate, Silicone, Alcohol free formula
+ Super fit and adherence
+ Good quality hydrogel
+ Skin hydrating results are very prominent
+ Beautiful packaging and fragrance
+ Comfortable application

– Hard to get in EU
– Info on the pack all in Korean
– Contains fragrance

What is old? What is new?: Empties and new skin care products

Today is the day that I’ve decided to sum up the bunch of stuff that was swirling in my brain and to finally put it on paper. I’ve decided to shortly mention my favorite products that I have used up in last month or so and to finally introduce some new brands into my skin care. So today’s review is all about the Empties and new skin care products that are going to gradually appear on my blog.

Nearly everything is gone till the last drop

I won’t be reviewing every sheet mask that I’ve use in the past month here, it is too much work for both me and you so the regular sheet mask reviews will appear as normal content. For al of the products mentioned in today’s post I will rate each product that I’ve used up according to the following score chart:

❇❇❇❇❇– Holy Grail, will probably purchase it up until I retire
❇❇❇❇– Excellent product, will consider repurchasing it (unless I stumble across a better alternative)
❇❇❇– Good one for overal use but there is definitely a better known alternative for it
❇❇– Not impressive or not performing well on my skin
❇– Waste of money (try before you buy)

Skin care

It’s all about the hydration

MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist 150 ml
Rating: ❇❇❇❇❇

Amazing quality! One bottle of this magic juice and lasts me approximately for 3 months. In order to stretch it out for that period of time I am decanting it into a spray travel bottle so that I can use my favorite whenever and wherever. Tip: perfect base for first couple of layers if you enjoy doing the 7-skin method.

MISSHA Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule 50 ml
Rating: ❇❇❇❇❇

Great addition to the MISSHA First Treatment Essence. It smoothes and calms my skin like no other. I only use it in my evening skin care. (I used to apply it in the mornings too but I now have a lighter alternative for my skin needs). If you never tried it, go and buy it and your skin will love you eternally.

MISSHA Super Aqua Ultra Waterful Cream
Rating: ❇❇❇❇❇

Holy-moly-grail cream for me. The texture is light and silky, resembling a thick gel. Loving everything about it starting from the fresh cactus-like scent of it and ending up with the way it seals all the moisture on my skin. Who knew that my oily skin will love this so much!!!

MISA Geum Sul Emulsion
Rating: ❇❇❇

Love the smell and the packaging of it. Ingredients are very extensive and definitely benefit the aging skin. After going through the entire bottle I do notice the reduction in pigmentation and fine lines. Unfortunately at some days it felt like too much for my skin. If you have a dry skin, definitely give this one a go.

Lange Hydra-Global Active Cream Mask
Rating: ❇❇❇❇❇

Best used as a sleeping mask and not like it is advertised. Amazing skin tightening and hydrating results and zero breakouts. Loving it and had already purchased a replacement jar!!!

Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel 400 ml
Rating: ❇❇❇

Quite reasonable cleanser for oily and combination skin. I enjoy it’s light texture and used it every time in my morning cleansing. For now there are plenty of better low pH alternatives out there so I won’t be repurchasing this tube any time soon. It is very economic in use, the 400 ml bottle lasted me for half a year.

MERUMAYA Melting Cleansing Balm 100 ml
Rating: ❇❇

This particular balmy cleanser did nothing to my skin except leaving it greasy after washing it off. It does take the make off and doesn’t irritate the eyes but the finish of it that remained on the skin is unacceptable for me. Better get a good oil cleanser or the Clean it Zero balm for the same price.

Cellio It’s True Premium Real Honey Deep Cleansing Foam
Rating: ❇❇❇❇

I love this cleanser and currently it is my top favorite out there but I have a bunch of other brands lined up in my stash that I want to test first and see if this goodness will remain the ultimate winner. It cleanses my skin gently, leaving it hydrated yet free of all the dirt and grime. Impressive and smells nice.

Pore and pimple care

COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch
Rating: ❇❇❇

Pimple patches are my friends. This particular edition is OK but not the best one I’ve tried. I will stick to the classic COSRX acne pimple master patch or the Lioele patches.

Lange Matifying Mask
Rating: ❇❇❇

It was ok but not as high quality in terms of delivering immediate results as other products from this brand. Overall a bit disappointed with it. Still a good product for those who doesn’t want their skin to shrink like a prune during the application.

Body care

MISSHA Fresh Mint Cooling Body Sorbet
Rating: ❇❇❇

When it comes to the light fresh fragrance of it and feel on my skin after application, this is a clear winner for me. Unfortunately the hydration abilities of it are not spectacular. It is good for the summer or humid environment but not enough for my skin during the colder months.

MISSHA Near Skin Self Control Sticky Massage 200ml

Rating: ❇❇❇❇❇

OMG!!!! My holy grail for….. wait for it…. body!!!!! Whaat? Yep, you heard me! It perorms well on my face but concidering that the jar is 200ml I was never able to use it up within the 12 months since the opening. So here comes the boom- wiht the realization that container is humongous, I’ve started using it on my body and… It completely got rid of my Keratosis Pilaris on my arms. A one skin condition that was never influenced by anything in my life. I swear by this thing and am solely using the next jar on my body as the difference of my skin on my upper arms is tremendous.

P.S> It is not sticky as advertised in the name 🙂

New skin care products:

As for the new skin care, I’ve decided to expand my interests towards organic skin care and hunted down some fun stuff from the Japanese market. Sorry, no Hada Labo product reviews coming…. Yet 😉

Hello from Japan 🙂

Splurge alert !!!

For my birthday I’ve ended up investing into an entire set of Whamisa products. I have sampled each and every product before I bought them  and was quite happy after 1-2x uses. Sorry, my dear wallet, it just had to happen that I wanted them in full-size. Below you can find the list of items that I am already testing or will start testing out on coming Monday. There will be individual reviews of each product that will go live in November because that’s when I’m planning to do it.

I have high hopes for you, guys

❇ Whamisa Organic Flowers Lotion Original 120 ml
❇ Whamisa Organic Flowers & Fruits Feminine Cleanser 150 ml

Anti-aging products

Since I am going into the winter mode and I just turned 30, I’ve decided to invest into the Geum Sul line by MISSHA and got 3 unique products that stood out of the bunch with their ingredients and their potential use. I also got another version of the Near Skin Self Control Peeling massage thing-of-a-bobs to see if it is going to improve my Keratosis Pilaris any further.

MISSHA Geum Sul investigation continues

❇ MISA Geum Sul Lifting Special Cream 50 ml (the actual jar is on the photo with Whamisa products)
❇ MISA Geum Sul Vitalizing Finisher 60 ml
❇ MISA Geum Sul First Essence Booster 100 ml
❇ MISSHA Near Skin Self Control peeling massage 200 ml

More masks !!!

What mask-addict blog wouldn’t include the new masks. Ha-ha, definitely not mine. Over past 4 weeks I’ve collected a whole bunch of amazing looking masks from MISSHA and Hello Skin brands and will be doing the test-drives of these in coming weeks. So definitely stay tuned.

New revies are coming out soon

❇ Hello Skin Jumiso Whoa Whoa Soothing Mask
❇ Hello Skin Jumiso Chewy Elasticity Mask
❇ Hello Skin Jumiso Rich Nourishment Mask
❇ MISA Cho Gong Jin Silky Mask
❇ MISSHA Skin Essential Charcoal & Horse Oil Sheet Mask
❇ MISSHA Glowing Oil-Soak Mask
❇ MISSHA 3-step Nutrition Mask

New brand in town

And of course  last but not least, after the Huxley skin care release I was extremely eager to try out their products and see myself what all the fuss is about. Considering that trying out everything full-size would put an enormous dent into my wallet I’ve opted for the set of miniatures that I am planning to take on my coming vacation in January. I also purchased the miniature set of their oils (which is currently flying across the ocean on one of the shipping courier planes). Soon I will be adding review about them too so don’t hesitate to check out my blog around January for the reviews on this brand.
